To shade
the hair
2. Grab the magic wand from the left tool menu. Click inside the hair to select the empty space. 3. In top menu, click on Selections > Modify > Expand > 1. 4. Set your foreground color to black, and select the paint can
tool. Flood Fill the selected area with this color.
5. Now I didn't like the strands of my hair, so I changed to the
paint brush tool, set to size = 3, and drew in the strands (on same hair
layer) to look like this:
6. Right-click on hair layer and select Add New Raster Layer. 7. In the Left tool menu, select the paint brush tool. Set the tool options box to the same settings: shape = round, size = 3, step =25, and Density-Opacity-Thickness = 100. 8. Set the foreground color to a color lighter than the color
used to fill the hair. Since I had filled with black, I chose a light
gray color. On the added layer, draw in some highlighted strands.
(See pic below). Take your time. *S*
9. Now set your foreground color to a color slightly darker than
the highlight, but still lighter than your hair color fill. Draw
in some strands in between the highlights. (See pic below).
10. In the top menu, click Edit > Blur > Gaussian Blur > Radius
= 1.50
11. Save your progress. Save this as shaded angel. Now is a good time to take a coffee or soda break. But don't forget
to come back!
Now continue to color and shade the angel.
