Remember to save as a .psd file often!

1.  Open a new, transparent image, size 500 x 500

2.  Choose the ellipse tool by right-clicking on the shapes tool (under the T) and choosing ellipse.

3.  In the top, tool options bar, click on the ellipse options icon and set it to circle from center.

4.  Draw a circle on your image.  It doesn't matter what color.  We will delete this layer when we are done.

5.  Choose the paint brush tool.  In the tool options bar, set the paintbrush tip to size 8 px, hardness = 100%.

6.  In top menu, click Layer > New > Layer.

7.  Set the foreground color to black or your first color choice.  I chose black since I want to make mine to use for Halloween.  With your brush, draw a line around the circle that weaves in and out of it.  See pic below.

8.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the layer and choose Blending Options.

9.  In the Layer Style Box, click on the words Bevel and Emboss.  Apply these settings:  Technique:  Smooth, Depth= 100%, Direction = up, size= 5 px, soften = 0, angle = 139, rest the defaults.

10.  Choose another color for your foreground color.

11.  In top menu, click Layer > New > Layer.

12.  Draw another vine weaving around the circle.  See pic below.

13.  Right-click on the Layer in the Layer Palette, and choose Blending Options.  Apply the same Bevel and Emboss as in step 9.

14.  Now choose a 3rd color and Repeat Steps 11 - 13.

15.  Make between 6 - 8 vines, EACH on their OWN layer.

16.  Now change the brush size to 4 px. (in the tool options bar at the top.

17.  In top menu, click Layer > New > Layer.

18.  Use the brush to draw the culy-Qs that extend from the vines.  These can all be drawn on the same layer, and with the different colors that you chose.  See pic below.

19.  In the Layer Palette, right-click on the layer to choose Blending Options.  Apply the same Bevel and Emboss as before. (Step 9).

20.  In the Layer Palette, slide the curly-Q layer down towards the middle.

21.  Then click on the bottom layer in the Layer Palette (the circle).  On keyboard, press delete.

22.  Now save this as is in .psd format.
